Press conference
Unexpected things happen, and as management you have to react to them. However, you must also try to size the opportunities and turn things around in a positive way.
Situation
An unexpected situations has occurred. The management team has to response quickly and take measures. First of all, you have to solve the problem, secondly, you will use the opportunity to emphasise and promote what your hotel is good at.
Goal
Solving the problem and taking all stakeholders into account.
Sizing the opportunity in a press conference, in a subtle and yet positive way.
Task, deliverable
Make a plan how to solve the problem which you have been presented. In this plan should be
- a fast and direct response to the situation
- taking into account all stakeholders
- a plan how to handle situations like this in the future
- trying to assess costs and maybe training needed
- Upload this plan somewhere in the cloud (free accessible), and put a link to this file in year 3 in the section 'Extra information for your coach'.
- It is not yet decided, whether the press conference will be life or online, depending on the Corona measures by then.

- Is the plan creative and plausible?
- In the press conference relevant
- Do they react adequate on questions?
- Do they manage to turn the negative situation into a positive one?
