What does the hotel look like?
To see what the hotel looks like, there are eight pages:
→ Go! Rooms | Reception | Restaurant | Outside hotel | Banqueting | Facilities | Park | Terrace
For a good starting point, for example, of the cost of hotel 'equipment', you can look this guide: https://www.nehmer.com/costguide.
This gives an overview of costs related to renovating the rooms.
Or use Operto or horwathhtl to get an idea. Check for details on costs of new investments. Feel free to use another guide, if that is more appropriate for your hotel. Do not get lost in too many details; rather think in hundreds and thousands of euro's.
Photos of the restaurant
Have a look at the photo show below which gives you a feel for the hotel restaurant. The restaurant was renovated last year. There is a big terrace linked to the restaurant which also has an entrance at the back. This is rather hidden and the terrace does not have a lot of people passing by because it is not visible from the street nor from the main entrance area.
There is a second terrace at the entrance area next to the banqueting hall. But this one is at the end of the parking lot, so it is not really comfortable as cars drive in and out. There is hardly any wind because it is situated close to the building, but it is very noisy because it is close to the city road.
As there are also a number of rooms on the groundfloor in this area it creates a few conflicts between the second terrace and guests regarding their privacy.
Videos playlist
Have a look at the videos of the restaurant and the other food and beverage options in and around the Emerald Forest hotel.
These videos are mainly of the hotel restaurant. The management has focused on the restaurant during recent years.
To see all the videos related to this item, click on the video in the top right-hand corner on the three small bars.
Then you will see all the videos in this playlist, and you can choose the ones you want to see.
Info on the food and beverage
In total, the venue's food and beverage offerings consist of
- One big restaurant
This restaurant has a capacity of 150 places which are flexible in their positioning.
This section has recently been renovated. The restaurant itself (the public space) is fine, only the kitchen is not really up-to-date. The construction of the building doesn't help much either. The connection from the restaurant to the kitchen is clumsy and illogical. But changing this means a major change in the construction and layout of the groundfloor.
The restaurant also has a bar-function in the lobby part 2. In this part of the lobby, drinks are also served and there are seats available.
The menu offered currently is largely traditional, as in most family hotels: it does not consist of anything special and the menu has no special focus on offerings. The prices for the menu are average for the city as is the quality. There is not a special strategy at this time: the restaurant is like any restaurant and offers food and drinks for an acceptable price range.
The same goes for the bar which is linked to the restaurant. Here, a broad range of sodas, beer, wines and liquors are served. As with the restaurant, there isn't a special focus or tradition, no specific type of drink or specific image. All the drinks that are available in the bar are also available at the two terraces and in the restaurant. In the Operating review you can see the revenues from food and beverage, linked to the guest (nights) booked in any year.
- One main terrace
Next to the restaurant with an entrance at the back. This terrace has, in normal configuration, 120 places.
- One additional terrace
This one is placed (see groundplan) at the entrance of the banqueting hall and it has a capacity of 60 places.
- Catering
There also is the possibility of catering for bookings in the banqueting halls. They have the choice of having the catering brought into the rooms, as a buffet in one of the adjoining rooms or having their drinks and meals served in the restaurant or lobby (part 2).
All of these arrangements for the banqueting groups are offered upon request and depend heavily on the period, wishes and possibilities.
It also depends on the exact package which sometimes includes hotel nights as well. In the Operating review you can the income from Banqueting as a separate group of revenues.
Groundplan food and beverage
The groundplan below gives you an indication of the outlay of the groundfloor concerning the food and beverage.
Prices and revenues
It is essential that you know what is profitable in this hotel at the time, you take over.
There is not much information on this yet, just check the page Operating review.
