The total of the hotel has been built by a company called Woodworld Fidelity Cooperation (WFC). This company used to work with natural materials in the 80ties. Looking at the standards used to define natural production by then, the production of WFC was just fine. Nowadays the rooms and the interior do not match the contemporary standards. All kinds of nature-friendly and sustainability-related labels do not apply to the rooms as they are now, nor do they to the hotel as a whole.
Future strategy
The Emerald Forest hotel has always been, so far, a family owned and operated hotel. They didn't really have a vision on sustainability or ESG. Yet, times are changing, so towards the future it will be ever more important to have a clear strategy, or a well-formulated mission related to this. And, in operations and procurement e.g. live up to this.
