<br>Prices<br>
Groundplan of the banqueting section
There is not much information on this. But sales prices in this market in the past ranged from €25 to €30 per person per day. This should give you an indication. You can chose from these two options:<br>
* the €25 stands for a standard banqueting offer which will do in many cases;
* the €30 stands for a premium offer: the banqueting product is more extended with more technical facilities and  a more luxury food and beverage part. <br>
The prices are not really decisive to the customers in deciding to book the banqueting product or not, research has proven this. The differences between the two products offered are not that big. But you can sometimes offer premium product for the standard price for instance in low season or weeks which are slow on business.

You can change these prices per year in your decisions: please be conservative in doing so. There is a history of the hotel and it has an image: you can not change that too radical overnight! But you can also ameliorate the product offered on rising the price.<br>
The public road also passes by the banqueting entrance, which has its own dedicated parking lot. There are 60 parking spaces available near this entrance, which can also be used by hotel guests or visitors stopping by for a drink or dinner. In the northern section of the hotel, where the arrow points to the park, there is no entrance or access to the hotel.<br>
Prices largely depend on what you are offering exactly. The prices mentioned are an average. Of course there are weeks, for example in January, in which lesser bookings are made, but there are also weeks like in May that, traditionally, that there are a lot of meetings often combined with hotel rooms etc. Furthermore most prices, if published, are rack rates: this means that they are negotiable.

The big banqueting hall can be rented as a whole or by one section, two sections together of three together. For all (maximum) four halls there are techniques available and there are sufficient facilities to do the obvious activities. All halls have a view to the north where the park is situated. The emergency exits are also in this direction. Unluckily the grounds of the hotel end directly 2 meters outside of the building in this part. This means that there is nothing allowed or possible on the outside: these grounds belong to the municipality. Only in case of emergency the guest can flee into the (municipality) park . There only is a small terrace of two meters everywhere, in fact these are more made to help the maintenance of the building then to have pavement to work on. These 'terraces' are now used by smokers or people who just want to be on the outside during a break. <br>

The big banqueting hall can be divided in four smaller units which each have their own equipment, facilities, doors etc.

* Part 1, 2 and 3 are alike (approx. 15 x 20 meter) they can each hold up to 70 people.
Details on the banqueting halls
* Part 4 is the smallest one (10 x 12 meter), this part can hold up to 40 people. <br>
The large banqueting hall offers flexibility and can be rented as a single unit or divided into one, two, or three sections. Each of the four halls is equipped with its own technical equipment and facilities, making them suitable for a variety of events. All halls offer a view to the north, facing a park, with emergency exits leading in that direction. However, the hotel grounds extend only two meters beyond the building on this side, as the land beyond belongs to the municipality. This limits outdoor activities, though guests may use the small two-meter terrace during breaks, primarily for smoking or stepping outside. <br>
So if these are all in use, making one big banqueting hall, there would be room for (3 x 70) + 40 = 250 people. This is possible in one adjoined hall or in four separated ones.  <br>
The banqueting hall can be divided into four smaller units:
A disadvantage is that the walls separating the banqueting halls, (if divided) are foldable and this makes the rooms rather noisy. <br>
* Sections 1, 2, and 3 are identical, measuring approximately 15 x 20 meters, each with a capacity of 70 people.
There is a separate entrance for the banqueting guests and there is also (indicated by P) a parking lot, which can hold 60 cars especially for the banqueting guests. These parking spaces can be also be used by the hotel guests or guests that are just visiting to get a drink or enjoy a diner. <br>
* Section 4 is smaller, at 10 x 12 meters, with a capacity of 40 people.

In total, when combined into one large space, the hall can accommodate up to 250 guests. However, when divided, the foldable walls between the halls can lead to increased noise levels.

Banqueting Revenue
There is not much detailed information on the results of banqueting yet, just check the page Operating_review. It seems that as you taken over a kind of 'fixed' amount of € 100,123 revenue per year achieved with banqueting was the basis for the Bergman's to work with. Now you can influence this with your decisions.
It is essential to understand what is profitable in the hotel at the time of acquisition. Currently, there is limited detailed information on the performance of the banqueting operations, but you can review the available data on the Operating_review page. At the time of takeover, it appears the hotel generated a steady annual revenue of approximately €231,636, which includes:
This group customers bringing this revenue seems to have hardly any links to the customers booking the hotel rooms, so far.

Demand in the market for banqueting
*Banqueting, accounting for around €100,000.
If we look at the past at the total of the market we also see the revenue (€100,000) and we know the standard banqueting rice (€ 25) on taking over ant the premium price (€30). So we can do some calculation as on the possibilities in banqueting turnover because we also know the capacity of the banqueting halls.<br>
*Other revenues from sources such as bicycle rentals, facility usage, special requests, and the use of Facilities.
There is an opportunity to make a terrace next to the banqueting halls, though this will take some of the parking space. For now it holds 60 place, but this easily be enlarged to 40 tables end 240 seats (so people).
Notably, this group of customers contributing to the revenue seems to have minimal overlap with those booking hotel rooms at this stage.
Market demand for banqueting
Looking at the hotel's historical figures, we see a revenue of €100,000 from banqueting, alongside an average price of €27.50 per person at the time of takeover. Based on this, we can project potential revenue from banqueting, particularly given the known capacity of the banqueting halls. <br>
Additionally, there is an opportunity to enhance this offering by creating a terrace adjacent to the banqueting halls. While this expansion would reduce some of the available parking space, the terrace currently holds 60 places and could easily be expanded to accommodate 40 tables and 240 seats, offering significant potential for increased capacity and revenue.

Upgrading?

For a reliable starting point on hotel equipment costs, you can refer to this Nehmer Cost Guide. It provides an overview of expenses related to room renovations. Alternatively, you may also consult Operto Operto’s guide or horwathhtl the Horwath HTL report for further insights. These resources will give you a clear idea of renovation and investment costs.

It's recommended to focus on broader estimates, such as figures in the hundreds or thousands of euros, rather than getting caught up in excessive details.

Info on banqueting

Banqueting services are services offered by Emerald Forest Hotel, as almost all hotels do. Generally, it is an interesting and profitable business. Banqueting services are services rendered in a hotel for a meal, usually dinner or lunch, and especially for groups. A banquet has a predetermined menu and will also have food stations set up for self-service. There are different types of banqueting styles.

The services are very much linked to special occasions around individuals, for instance, weddings, birthdays and other festivities. Though, they can also be linked to the business market of meetings, incentives, congresses (MICE market) and (small) exhibitions.

There is always a link to food and beverage, though most 'arrangements' hold the following elements
 • Facilities as in equipment (beamers, laptops etc.)
 • Renting of spaces to meet
 • Food and beverage
 • Special services, for instance, extra bandwidth (internet) assistance (secretary etc.)
 • Possibilities to stay overnight, so hotel rooms

Banqueting is, in most cases, divided into a separate unit in the hotel and has its own manager.

Prices

In the past, there has been limited information on how pricing was calculated in the hotel. Historically, sales prices in this market ranged from €25 to €30 per person per day, with Emerald Forest typically using €28 as their benchmark.
Prices depend largely on the specific offerings. The mentioned figures represent an average; for instance, January often sees fewer bookings, while May traditionally experiences higher demand, with numerous meetings often combined with hotel room bookings. Additionally, most published prices are based on rack rates, meaning they are negotiable.

Details on the banqueting halls

The large banqueting hall offers flexibility and can be rented as a single unit or divided into one, two, or three sections. Each of the four halls is equipped with its own technical equipment and facilities, making them suitable for a variety of events. All halls offer a view to the north, facing a park, with emergency exits leading in that direction. However, the hotel grounds extend only two meters beyond the building on this side, as the land beyond belongs to the municipality. This limits outdoor activities, though guests may use the small two-meter terrace during breaks, primarily for smoking or stepping outside.
The banqueting hall can be divided into four smaller units:

 • Sections 1, 2, and 3 are identical, measuring approximately 15 x 20 meters, each with a capacity of 70 people.
 • Section 4 is smaller, at 10 x 12 meters, with a capacity of 40 people.

Additionally, there is a separate entrance and parking lot (labeled as P) for banqueting guests, with enough space for 60 cars.

Banqueting Revenue

It is essential to understand what is profitable in the hotel at the time of acquisition. Currently, there is limited detailed information on the performance of the banqueting operations, but you can review the available data on the Operating_review page. At the time of takeover, it appears the hotel generated a steady annual revenue of approximately €231,636, which includes:

 • Banqueting, accounting for around €100,000.
 • Other revenues from sources such as bicycle rentals, facility usage, special requests, and the use of Facilities.
