Name of assignment
Handling of a crisis situation. What the crisis exactly entail will be clear later on.
Situation
As in reality, unexpected things will always occur: sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad. As a management team you have to be prepared, but even more important, you must act. All eyes will be on the management team with regard to steps to be taken. In crisis situations, there is often no clear road map on what to do and how to act.
The situation is urgent and demands for steps to be taken immediately. Jill Jandal, all staff and stakeholders are looking at the new management to solve the problem.
Goal
You need to show your competencies related to a number of things:
- Solving the problem
- Making sure it never happens again
- Making sure everybody is rightly informed (and safe)
- Minimizing the 'damage' too all
Not only the interests of the hotel have to be taken into account, but the interests of all stakeholders.
Task, deliverable
React quickly and make a plan on how to handle the situation.
Write an extensive document about this (3-4 pages). Elements that should be included:
- How to solve the situation right now
- Who is responsible for which tasks
- How to communicate to all stakeholders
- Do not forget the social media
- Assess the damage of the situation (costs)
- Plan how to prevent this from ever happening again (costs?)
Handing in
You will present you handling of the crisis to our coaches.
Assessed elements
- How quick and realistic was the response?
- Is it clear what the plan is?
- Are all stakeholders been contacted?
- Are the costs somehow realistic?
