Assignments
Name of assignment
Database and GDPR.
Situation
Particularly in these times of fierce competition and online, dates are extremely important. The hotel has until now simply used a fairly traditional hotel reservation system that records from guests:
- the name of the booker
- his/her e-mail address
- telephone number
- payment method and booking(s) preferences.
Not much has actually been done with these data so far.
If just inquiries have been done, by phone, e-mail, or website, just the e-mail address is asked-kept in the data base.
Goal
Jill Jandal wants to make more use of the possibilities of (self) collecting and managing client data in order to do marketing more efficiently and effectively. All this should be within the limits of the GDPR and it should also contribute to a better customer experience.
Task, deliverable
Make a plan::
- What data of (potential) customers (and multiple travellers?) you want to collect.
- Specify exactly how you want to do this: and closely look at to the requirements of the GDPR. make sure the consequences of the plan, linked to GDPR, within your organisation are clear.
- Indicate concretely how this can contribute to the marketing of your hotel and the customer experience.
Assessed elements
- Does the plan take all the requirements of GDPR into account?
- Can data be collected in the presented way?
- Are the presented possibilities in using the data concrete, realistic and functional?
- Are all sources accounted for?
