Importance of websites
You have seen the website the hotel has right now: current website Emerald Forest Hotel. The Bergman family never paid that much attention to any digital tool. So the website is very weak and doesn't live up to the expectations of customers. Another thing is, because of the old-fashioned way the website is built and the lack of updating, the indexing by search engines is bad. This means, being found by potential customers via search engines is getting harder.
Potential partners in distribution might scrape the website for content, prices etc. especially verticals like
The current website of the hotel is just not suitable for scraping or anything else. A new one, in combination with a well-organized system of distribution, is badly needed. The best thing to cooperate would be
- work with an API (or widget) and verticals
- work with an API (or widget) and affiliates
- get the website scraped
- cooperate in GDS like Amadeus, Worldspan, Sabre, Galileo or Apollo.
- work with an international Hotel Reservation System (the hotel doesn't until now) which makes is also much easier to work with a Hotel Website Bookings engine.
Probably, to become more professional and open to other bookings systems, you would need a combination of these things: techniques and partners-brands.
