You and every member of your team are tasked with the take over the Emerald Forest Hotel as the new management of the Hotel. You will run the hotel, bring improvements to its current operations and deliver noticeable results when compared to prior years.  Last year's performance results and its related decisions are being made available to you along with historical data as a point of reference. This becomes the same starting point for all teams. <b>
Your hotels are located in the Netherlands, in a number of (fictitious) cities. In each city multiple hotels are also found. Your direct, or main competitors are the other existing hotels within your city. <br>
CEO Jill Jandal and owner Christina Bergman ask that you manage efficiently and effectively the Emerald Forest Hotel. Coaches will help you achieving such a task; meanwhile Jill and Christina will be following any developments along the way behind the scenes.

You all take over the Emerald Forest Hotel as a management team. You have to run the hotel, trying to do better than has been done in the past. Last year's decisions and results, the history, are available as a point of reference. You all have the same hotels, with the same data as starting point. The hotels are located in your own country, so the Netherlands, in a number of (fictitious) cities. Each city consists of approx. ten hotels. Your ''direct'', or main competitors are the other hotels in your city. <br>

• Behave as skilled managers: handling uncertainties, finding solutions and learning from own failures.


You will do by managing the hotel in the following ways:
Consequently, you are expected to carry out quite well your managerial duties and deliver all of the following:  
* Making eight assignments during a year of preparations and three consecutive years
• A set of nine assignments during the course of the game: one during the first year of preparations (first round) and three others in the next consecutive years. (or rounds).
* Explaining why and how you do things
• Offering a strong and clear substantiation behind each of your decisions and actions.
* Live-actions in the game
• Living up to the deadlines on a timely and punctual fashion while continue acting  adequately on new situations and challenges ahead.
* Handling situation, make choices and be creative
• Creating a competitive position and strategy for your hotel in your city.
* Taking into account the competitions, real-life and other things happening during the Game.<br>

Communication

This platform is where you can find documentation on many elements linked to your hotel.
We will use the Facebook group 32NL as a platform to profile your hotel: so join as soon as possible! We ask one members of each group to join the WhatsApp group, supporting the total of the game.
There is modules in the study program related to the game, as will be explained in your study manual.
Most important contact point will be your coach. Always remember that uncertainty comes along with managing: there is an overkill on information and things to do, managing a hotel is among other things, handling this.

You are working with approx. 4 persons in a management team. Each city will be guided by its own coach, as much as possible.

Module The Game

All assignments related to run your hotel you will find on this platform.
Your entrepreneurial decisions and explanation have a major impact on your occupancy rate and so, in combination with your prices chosen and costs, impact on your profit. Algorithms will process this and, depending on the outcome, rank your team.
Your mark, related to your credit points at BUAS, will be the average of the evaluation of your teams four creativity assignments in the four rounds in the game. Marks are individual, but very likely in many cases will be the same for all team members. Your coaches' evaluation, has a 70% direct influence on your occupancy rate.
Obviously: the better you run this hotel simulation, the more you get a grip on everything which will help very much in bringing the game and the assignments to a good end.
Note: During the game, you will get comments from your coach.
