Branch organisation
First, what kind-off companies do belong to the hospitality industry, to the branch? This give a summary from a USA point-of-view. As any industry, it consists of a large number of organisations and institutions defend the interest of hospitality, offer networking or guidance.
Hospitality Industry organisations traditionally can be
- worldwide like HSMAI and IHRA or Hospitalitynet
- per country or regional: Chapters of HSMAI or Cyprus Hotel Association or Hotels association of hotel in New York City
- per hotel chain or franchise like the big https://www.louvrehotels.com/en Louvre Hotels group], including Golden Tulip, Campanile, Sarovar, Kyriad e.g.
Your city
In your city there is no DMO, no local hospitality industry organisation at the beginning of this game: nor an organisation promoting the total interests of the city your hotel is located in. Feel free to organize one. This does require members, some dedication, goals and it will bring some costs (membership). On the other hand, it might bring additional guests to the total of the city and thus all hotels in your city could benefit.
So you really need to have a plan, have members and estimate the benefits (and costs). If you do so and communicate properly, the market might respond, the demand might grow. Check the page cooperation on this.
Podcasts
A nice overview of the most important podcasts in hospitality, some by industry organisations, some commercial, some private: 54 podcasts in hospitality.
