What is a Hotel PMS?
A hotel Property Management System (PMS) is a set of solutions that hoteliers use to manage day-to-day hotel operations. This system can hold all kinds of 'elements' like
- the bookings or reservations
- front desk information on arrivals, wishes e.g.
- information on housekeeping: cleaning e.g.
- maintenance, scheduling, combining with complaints or remarks e.g.
- billing and invoicing, analytics and reporting towards the management e.g.
It can, via API's, be combined with other data within the hotel, but also with affiliating programs and many many more.
The POS system, with a focus on payments, is often linked to this, or integrated with the PMS. Or, the other way around.
